To place a frame as shared cell

  1. Create the commands to build a parametric frame.
  2. If the Name field is empty, key in a name in the Name field.
  3. Click Place.
  4. Make sure that Shared is on in the tool settings box.
  5. Place the frame.

    An instance of the frame is placed as a shared cell in the design file.

    The frame is shown as shared (Shrd) in the Cell Library dialog (when Use Shared Cells is on in the Cell Library dialog).

    The Shared option in the tool settings box displays as “Shared from dgn.” This means that a shared cell with this name exists in the design file.

    cannot place a frame as a shared cell when the Name field is empty. Shared in the tool settings box will be turned off.

  6. (Optional) Place another instance of the frame.
